01 / Our Story
Made to be
a real alternative.
Inkframe was started in 2026 by Charmaine Mumbamarwo — a designer and developer tired of the choice most Southern African founders face: an overstretched freelancer, or a template site that looks like everyone else's.

Charmaine Mumbamarwo
Designer, developer and the person you'll speak to. Runs every project end to end, from first call to launch.
The studio was built around three ideas. One: design and development belong together — a beautiful site that's broken to use is not a good site. Two: budgets in this market are real, and pricing has to reflect that without pretending to be cheap. Three: personal accountability beats a big team you never actually get to speak to.
Inkframe is still in its first year. That means the aesthetic is sharp, the process is direct, and every early client gets a level of attention that a bigger agency can't match.
We're actively building a foundational portfolio — spec projects, small-business launches, and NGO work — before scaling. If you're at the beginning of something, you're exactly who this studio was made for.
